
Leonardo Antunes
Senior Managing Director
Leonardo Antunes is a Partner and Senior Managing Director at BroadSpan Capital, where he leads the firm’s operations in Brazil and oversees coverage of the Southern Cone region of Latin America. He is a member of the Firm’s Board of Managers and Executive Committee.
With more than 30 years of investment banking experience, Mr. Antunes has advised on over 150 mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, restructuring, and strategic advisory assignments across Latin America, representing more than US$15 billion in transaction value and over US$5 billion in capital raises.
Since joining BroadSpan in 2005, he has advised multinational corporations, private equity investors, family-owned businesses, and leading middle-market companies on complex domestic and cross-border transactions. His industry experience includes energy, power and utilities, oil and gas, industrials, technology, business services, and infrastructure.
Prior to BroadSpan, Mr. Antunes led M&A, Capital Markets, and Project Finance activities at Banco Modal. Previously, he served as Vice President of Corporate Finance and Structured Finance for Latin America at ABN AMRO Bank and began his investment banking career at J.P. Morgan (formerly Robert Fleming & Co.).
Mr. Antunes currently serves as Chairman of the Board of MCG – Mourão Campos Group and has served on the boards of several companies and international organizations. He is also active in the entrepreneurial and corporate governance communities, including the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO and Endeavor Brazil.
Mr. Antunes holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), an Executive MBA from IBMEC, and an Executive MBA in Energy from COPPEAD Graduate School of Business.
