BROADSPAN EXPANDS ADVISORY TEAMS IN MIAMI AND SAO PAULO

New Talent Powers Continued Growth in M&A and Restructuring Practices.

MIAMI, April 16, 2014 – Continuing its successful 12-year track record of providing corporations, partnerships and government institutions with advice on investment banking transactions in Latin America and the Caribbean, Miami based BroadSpan Capital LLC has expanded its advisory teams in Miami and Sao Paulo.

Abraham Cavalcanti has been appointed a Director in BroadSpan’s Sao Paulo office. Mr. Cavalcanti has more than 13 years of mergers & acquisitions and financial advisory experience in Brazil. Prior to joining BroadSpan Abraham spent 7 years as a vice-president in the mergers and acquisition group of Itau Unibanco. Prior to that, he worked in the corporate finance unit of KPMG Brazil. Abraham graduated from Universidade Federal do Ceará and earned his MBA at Fundação Getúlio Vargas. He speaks fluent Portuguese and English.

Gabriel Gerenstein has been appointed a Vice President in BroadSpan’s Miami office. Mr. Gerenstein brings more than 10 years of investment banking and corporate development experience to BroadSpan.

Previously, Gabriel was a senior member of the Corporate Development & Strategy team at Ryder System (NYSE: R), a Fortune 500 company that provides logistics and transportation solutions worldwide. Prior to that Gabriel was an Associate with Environmental Capital Partners, a private equity fund in New York focused on buyouts and growth capital investments and before that he was an Associate with Farlie Turner & Co, a boutique investment bank focused on M&A and restructuring advisory. Gabriel graduated from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and received his MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also a CFA level III candidate and speaks fluent Spanish and English.
